Wi-Fi is available for Society members using the library and copies of documents may be photographed. Our large 25″ laminator will perform the work regardless of the job size. Many people like to laminate old newspapers, obituaries, brittle records, etc. Supplementing our microfilm facilities are two laminating pieces of equipment and a comb binder. Both men were well known and respected local genealogists and historians. Dieffenbach, prior to his death, donated his lifetime collection of genealogical material. Schuyler wrote the weekly newspaper column, “Our Keystone Families”. Brossman, his extensive genealogical microfilm records. Our Society acquired, through donation by the late Schuyler C. The Brecht Genealogical Library contains over 10,000 books and papers, which include family histories, local histories, biographies and copies of ninety percent of the existing records of the Tulpehocken region churches. ![]() ![]() The library employs a part-time librarian and utilizes volunteers to assist. The goal of our library is to collect and catalog all books, papers, and photographs to study all aspects of the history, genealogy, and culture of our Pennsylvania German ancestors (including Alsatian French, Dutch, and Swiss German peoples) in order to achieve the distinction as a regional center for German studies.
